The Mandalorian Season 2

The Mandalorian is an American television series which is created by Jon Favreau. A part of the Star Wars franchise and the first live-action series. It is set after five years the Return of the Jedi (1983) and the fall of the empire. The Mandalorian season one streamed on Disney+ on November 12, 2019 to December 27, 2019, it became an instant super hit and was nominated for Outstanding Drama Series with total 15 Emmy nominations and won seven Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. Now the second season of The Mandalorian is all set to premiere on October 30, 2020 on Disney+ and Disney+ Hotstar.

The Mnadalorian season 1 was a smash hit and now fans are super excited for season 2 it is expected to premiere worldwide on Friday, October 30 and episode 1 of season 2 is expected to be available around 12:30pm – 12:45pm IST in India. All further episodes of The Mandalorian is expected to release around same time on Fridays.

The Mandalorian season 2 – The Trailer 

After creating huge buzz for a week with first look images, Disney and Lucasfilm revealed the first trailer of The Mandalorian season 2 in September. It provided several details about plot detail as Mando will search the jedi and trying to reunite the baby yoda with its people. First trailer itself unveiled glimpses characters and lots of action. 

The second trailer of The Mandalorian also dropped recently and it grabbed a lot of attention just as the first trailer and featured further hints of story and plot.

The Star Cast

The star cast of season two of The Mandalorian is expected to feature some old characters and few new characters. Pedro Pascal will play Din Djarin, a lone bounty hunter and a warrior. The Child who is Baby Yoda, an infant member of some unidentified alien species. Carl Weathers playing Greef Karga, Gina Carano playing Carasynthia Dune (Cara) and Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon who is the darksaber-wielding villain. The scientist Dr. Pershing played by Omid Abtahi, The Armorer by Emily Swallow and the blue complexion alien Mythrol will be played by Horatio Sanz.

Some new characters in season 2 are Anakin Skywalker’s Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano which is played by Rosario Dawson. Katee Sackhoff will be seen as Bo-Katan Kryze former ruler of Mandalore, Temuera Morrison, Timothy Olyphant, Michael Biehn and some other characters may be seen playing prominent roles in season 2.

The Episodes

In second season of The Mandalorian there will be eight episodes which will be releasing on every Friday starting from October 30, 2020 to December 18, 2020 during same time. The fans are all excited to welcome their favourite baby Yoda and the Mando. Undoubtedly it is going to be the biggest TV event left for the year 2020.

Titles of all eight episodes will reveal on their release only so viewers have to wait till the last episode. The last episode of season one is “Chapter 8: Redemption” and hence season two will start from “Chapter 9” and last till “Chapter 16”. All the episodes of season 2 are written by Jon Favreau  except episode 7 i.e. “Chapter 15” which is written by Rick Famuyiwa. The directors for season two of The Mandalorian are also some of the best and renowned names including Dave Filoni, Peyton Reed, Robert Rodriguez, Rick Famuyiwa, and Carl Weathers. Jon Favreau will first time direct the episode of this series as last time he was occupied with the Lion King.

The details

Due to COVID-19 pandemic the biggest challenge for post-production team was music. Composing, recording and combining all the music together to produce final music was a huge task. The filming of second season begun on October 7, 2019 and the high secrecy policy was maintained throughout the filming and production of second season as well. The filming completed on March 8, 2020 for the season just before four days before film and television productions were shut down around the world due to COVID-19 pandemic. However the post production has impacted a lot due to this. Also there is good news for fans and viewers worldwide that there will be a third season of The Mandalorian and it was confirmed in April 2020.
